Don't buy a second hand phone

Don't buy a second hand phone I bought a second hand/Pre-owned phone on the 26th of February. Today 1 April, the phone switches off while i'm viewing video's. The battery swollen. the phone dies every time i need to do something on the phone. I tried to return the phone, Takealot referred me straight to the manufacturer. I went to the manufacture, they say the phone is not under warranty. Even though the takealot advert clearly says the phone has a 12 month guarantee. Now I'm stuck with a phone i cannot use after i spend R7000 on it.
