Don't bother

I used to buy from Takealot often, but now, after a break of a few years because I lived at an address they wouldn't deliver to, I decided to give them another shot.

Out of 8 items I've bought in the last 2 weeks, I had to return 4. The first item worked for 2 days and then stopped. The second didn't work at all. The third was a pair of shoes that didn't fit me, despite me checking the measurements before buying. And the fourth was a supposedly ergonomic office chair, which arrived in a damaged box with parts falling out. No instruction manual. It took me an hour to put it together, only to discover that it is a completely different chair to the one I ordered, and it is definitely not ergonomic.

Essentially, rather than being a well-priced source of much-needed items for South Africans, Takealot has become just another drop shipping site for cheap Chinese ****. I guess I'll go back to shopping in person.
