DO NOT BUY SALE ITEMS FROM TAKEALOT. They Cancelled an order purchased on sale saying that there's no stock. The same product is still advertised as in stock for more then DOUBLE the price.

Becareful with buying so called "sale" items through this company.

I purchased a Hoover wet and dry vacuum via takealot app on Thursday 26th November 2020 during the black friday/blue dot deals for R1099.00. The expected delivery date was 15th December 2020 which I found unusual but given the deal price I decided I would stick with the purchase. On Monday 30th November 2020 Takealot sent me an email stating that the order is cancelled because they no longer have stock. However on their website they still advertised the same vacuum as available and in stock at R2377.00:

Its seems Takealot clearly had stock but could not honour their advertised prices. They duped me into buying into their deal and then cancelled the item after the weekend so that I missed out on not only their black friday/blue dot deals but also deals from other online retailers (without questionable business practices) who were offering the same vacuum.

Infact I saw other online retailers offering better discounts on the same product for the Black Friday deals over the weekend after I had already made payment but I decided to stick with Takealot and not request a refund.

As mentioned before, please be extremely careful when buying so called "sale" products through this platform. Especially if there are other online retailers offering the same product at similar prices. Rather choose another online retailer without questionable business ethics as Takealot cannot honour their orders or Sale prices they advertise. Now I am stuck without a vacuum but forced to pay full prices as all the other deals are over. Stay away from their sale items and rather shop elsewhere.
