Dishonesty is their company policy

Takealot does not understand customer service, ethical business practice and honesty. They do not understand it in any way shape or form.

I placed an order with them and It was due for delivery today. This morning came and i could see in the tracking the order had been shipped. At 09h30 i get an sms from them saying that i was not available to receive my order so they will reschedule the delivery for another day. Just to clarify, I have not left the house at all today (we are still in lockdown) I have been awake since early this morning so i wouldn't have slept through them ringing my door bell or even knocking on the door. My wife was awake as well so even if i hadn't heard anything my wife would have, she can hear everything.

Even more strange was the fact that the driver decided that i wasn't available at home while he was in Ottery and i live in Plumstead. But i have heard from someone that Takealot will make up excuses if they cant handle the pressure of delivering an order. All they had to do was phone or email me and say they cant handle the pressure would i mind delivery tomorrow. I wouldn't have had a problem, its not an urgent order.

I phoned their call center to speak to deliveries department. They are currently not taking calls so you have to email them and they will hopefully reply within 72 hours - 3 days to wait for a delivery enquirery - as slow as their deliveries apparently.

I then called customer service and stated my case. I was told they will have a manager call me from the delivery department ASAP. 3 hours later i am still sitting in anticipation of my delivery or phone call.

I decide to call again. This time after sitting on hold i am promised that my delivery will be there in an hour and a manager will call to sort out the issues. 2 hours later i am still sitting in anticipation of a delivery or phone call. but still nothing

I call back a third time, am told a manager will call me withing 10 minutes. It has been 30 minutes and i am still waiting. every time i hear a car or bike go down the street i jump up with happiness, only to be let down again as it drives past and isn't my order.

I am not expecting miracles from Takealot I am just expecting not to be **** to by a company, i am just expecting to get my delivery and i am just expecting to be treated like a customer should.
