Dishonest delivery dates

I received a delay notification after paying for items. The delivery date shows 5-7 working days, but immediately after paying for the items, I received a delay notification. Why not tell me this upfront. One of the items is a gift for someone, and I ordered it based on the delivery date provided. Surely, this can be transparently communicated before payment.
