Disgusting Service - Temu/Amazon did better
I have never experienced such a mess of a delivery on an order before in my life. On Oct 8th i placed an order for 44 items. it was a large order. #***, all items selected reflected in Stock with Takealot, not from external suppliers. I placed the order and was told that delivery date would be 14th October. Then the 14th of October arrived and on that morning i got an update to say my order is delayed to 28th October. How? You had stock? so i cancelled the order, only to be told that my funds were not reversed back into my card but were given to me in store credit. I didn't have time to wait for a proper refund, so i explicitly placed a new order(#***), only selecting items that are same-day delivery, in stock in Cape town and not a third party supplier because i couldn't afford any more delays.. New order placed on the 14th October. i contacted your call center and they assured me all items are in stock and order should take up to 2 days in main centers(I can see the takealot building from my office) within 2 hours i got a message to say the order will be delayed to the 27th October. i immediately called the contact center, they advised me that part of my order(3 hair straighteners) are in fact NOT in CPT as they listed , but actually in Durban and this is the reason for delay. They offered that they split the order and send the rest of the items. I agreed. On Monday October 20th, i got a call to say i have a delivery. When i went to get the items. I was handed 1 small box. I was confused and opened the box. Guess what?? 1 Hair straightener. So not only did the Durban items come first but it wasn't the 3 i ordered!!! The rest of my stuff has still not been delivered!!! It is the 21st of October and i needed these items almost a month ago. The scary thing of it all was i ordered a separate item on TEMU a few days after my Takealot order. guess what? The Temu item has already arrived from overseas.
The incompetence is disgusting. They mislead on their website by saying something is in stock locally when it isn't. They give you credit instead of refunding properly, to ensure you forced to use their website. I haven't received an apology, i haven't received anything from them. they blame the courier, the warehouse and the website. one call center agent even laughed at me cause he couldn't believe what was happening on his systems. Take some ownership!
Well done Takealot, i did this exact same order on Amazon and got it within 3 days. You have lost a customer forever. but you probably too big to care.
