Disgusted

I purchased a Polaroid Single Touch Active Smart watch from takealot.com for R449. I thereafter received an email confirming my order and estimated delivery date.

The following day I received an email stating that my order had been cancelled because the supplier is out of stock.

I immediately went onto my takealot app and to my surprise the watch was in stock for R899.

I then phoned the customer care line. The consultant Hannah Adams insisted that the product shown in stock is from a different supplier from the one that I had ordered. She repeated this continuously as though I could not comprehend what she was saying to a point where she frustrated herself and me.

The technicalities of which supplier Takealot get their stock from has absolutely nothing to do with me. I purchased a watch based on what was advertised on their site.

It seems to me that Takealot had erroneously advertised a lower price. While processing my order they realised their mistake and **** that they are out of stock and then further fabricated this information on the telephone call.

The consultant asked me to purchase at the new price or get a refund. This is totally unacceptable.

The watch should have been sold to me at the price advertised.

It was really not what I expected from Takealot. Utterly disappointed and disgusted.
