Disgruntled and dissatisfied customer

I ordered and paid for a iron on the 16th of November 2020.The order was set out to be delivered on the 23rd of November 2020.This morning(19 Nov 2020) I received a text that the order was out for delivery today.I awaited a call from the courier company buy never received it.Late this evening, I logged into the Takealot app and realised that the order was delivered to an illegible customer of which I had no knowledge of.I think this was careless because if the person who accepted my order denies having received it who do I then hold liable?I expected to get a call that would notify me that I need to come outside to sign for my order.I think I am going to reconsider my future purchases with Takealot.
