Disastrous Takealot customer service

when experiencing a problem with a product i bought for a varsity assignment which malfunctioned two days before the assignment was due, the person working behind the counter at the Pietermaritzburg Camps Drift depot told me and then my mom that he was not willing to help in any way to try get a new product the next day and that i can just fail my first year . i was very disappointed by this and angered at the lack of help.
