Disappointing and upsetting

My wife and I purchased a JBL sound bar from Rip a lot formally known as Take alot. When we got the sound bar it had a distorting sound. We thought this could be caused by the DSTV decoder. This distorting sound persisted for around a two weeks. Eventually I decided to check whether I followed the instruction manual correctly. I then resolved to reassembled my sound bar in an effort to correct this distorted sound with the aid of my owner’s manual. While I was reassembling the sound bar the jack point just fell into the sound bar. This was a clear indication that the sound bar was defected. At that point I dissabled the sound bar and packed it back into the box and logged a returns call.

Warranty, rules and guide lines are generally the same with all electronic products. I was mindful of the rules around the warranty and its validity, hence I opted not to do anything (try and open the sound bar to fix it) but rather send it back for them to check and fix.

I am infuriated by not only the fact that I feel **********, after spending around R 3000 on a defected product. However in all this process, Take alot has not even called and or showed any care to my query. Instead I was told that there was nothing they could do, basically it none of their business now that they have my money.

If they cared to do a proper inspection of the sound bar they would have picked up that there is not sign or indication of tempering. That sound bar was defected for the on set.
