Disappointed – Takealot Refuses to Honour Consumer Protection Act

I purchased a pre-owned iPhone 12 Mini from Takealot less than a month ago, and the phone started giving me problems almost immediately. When I contacted Takealot for a refund, they refused to assist me and told me to deal directly with the supplier, calling it a “manufacturer warranty product.” This is unacceptable. My transaction was with Takealot, not their supplier.Even the supplier confirmed that they cannot process a refund because the purchase was made through Takealot. Still, Takealot continues to refuse to take responsibility.According to the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), defective goods can be returned to the retailer within 6 months for a refund, replacement, or repair. Takealot is ignoring this law and shifting the responsibility onto customers, which is very disappointing.I bought from Takealot specifically for peace of mind and customer service, but instead, I am left with a faulty phone and no proper support. This has been a frustrating experience, and I will be escalating the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud.
