Delivery vehicle accident
Good day, I always had verry good service with Takealot and still do. Deliveries on time and the packing is always neat and not damaged. about three months ago my vehicle was parked at a shopping centre in Nelspruit where one of the Takealot delivery vehicle was parked. Something happened and the Takealot bakkie bumped into my car. I believe the handbrake failed or the bakkie was bot in gear. I have the whole incident on cctv compliments from the mall. Besides smashing into my new Toyota Fortuner R 600 000 it seems to me that the bakkie is not insured as my insurance can’t get hold of the policy details so that we can sort the excess out. The Nelspruit depot gave me the run around. Then they say that the delivery bakkie is privately own but it is insured. They gave me the owners contact details so that we can discuss the issue then he has the audacity to say we can go to court. Is that the way Takealot responds to an issue? Lastly what if it was a big accident and people lost their lives, what then who will stand in for the liability claim. If Takealot uses external people to do the delivery’s you must surely make sure that there is insurance in please. Is there any GIT insurance in place for all the merchandise? I am verry unhappy. Please contact me.Tiaan Reynecke ***
