Delivery Team Service Sucks
I hate writing this review, because in general I love Takealot. BUT - their customer service is BEYOND BAD!
My order was made on Thursday (25 February) so today (Saturday, 27 February) I receive that SMS saying my order will be delivered on Monday (01 March) - and that’s great, except that I’m out of town and will only be back to accept the delivery on Tuesday (02 March). The original delivery date was set for Friday, 05 March - and that would have been fine.
So I did what any regular Takelot user would do! I hopped on the app and rescheduled the delivery for Tuesday, 02 March. Problem solved? Not quite. 2 hours later I get another SMS saying my order will be delivered today (Saturday, 27 February) - but, once again, I’m not available to receive the parcel until Tuesday (02 March). So ONCE AGAIN I reschedule the delivery for said date - and because it’s Takealot, I get a message saying it’s the last time I can reschedule. So 03 hours after that I get an SMS once again - saying the order will be delivered today (Saturday, 27 February) and not on Tuesday, 02 March - AS I HAVE REQUESTED (not once, but) TWICE!
So now, my blood is boiling... Takealot provides NO clear contact details on their app or website, so after Googling their customer complaints line I get a number to phone ***), I follow the prompts to speak to Takealot don't delivery queries and the pre-recorded voice tells me they are working remotely due to the Coronavirus pandemic (fair) and I should log a request via the help forum and they’ll get back to me in 72 hours. And then the phone hangs up.
Luckily I have the number for the local (Vaal Triangle) Takealot delivery team ***) and after taking out my frustration on the poor lady, she kindly assists by physically writing on the package to only deliver in on TUESDAY, 02 MARCH. So I did the human thing and apologized for taking my frustrations with Takealot out on her.
Here is the thing - why was it continually rescheduled for a different date than the one I specifically asked for. And why is it so hard to contact them?!
