Delivery Drivers not Trained

Takealot is taking the convenience out of online shopping for me. I do not want a delivery driver to phone me when he is 10 km away asking me for directions to my home. He did not even try and find my address he told me. He has no GPS, no map, no nothing, expecting the customer to direct him on the phone. This is not acceptable in the day and age of Google MAPS! I am not happy and expect takealot to take corrective action or I will not be shopping with them anymore.

Hello deonroel,

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the driver's phone call to request directions to the delivery destination. We expect all our delivery teams to thoroughly prepare for all deliveries to make sure they reach their destinations on time and as scheduled with the customer. Our delivery teams should also be equipped with the necessary devices, such as GPSs or maps, to assist with their planning. It does however happen from time to time that these devices are inaccurate or unclear and we then request assistance from customers to guide us to the correct destination. This however should only be done when we've explored all alternative options to find the locations ourselves.

We've assigned this matter to our complaints team to address with the relevant courier branch. They'll confirm the driver's details and investigate what attempts were made from his side to find the location prior to contacting you. Should no attempt have been made we'll take the necessary corrective action.

Our complaints team will feedback to you as soon as this matter has been addressed.

Sincerely,
