Delivery chaos

Placed order Wed 2nd Sept. Delivery supposedly scheduled for Mon 7th.
Tuesday morning I get an email claiming that delivery has been completed.

I reply to the email saying this is not so, and get a reply that someone named Dorcas signed for the package.
No one in this office park by that name. Gate security tells me no deliveries by Mr Delivery (or anyone else) at the claimed time. I phone Mr Delivery. Am told they will investigate and call back. Still waiting.

Today (Wed 9th) I phone Mr Delivery again and this time get told that some other person signed for the parcel.

To date Mr Delivery has not once contacted me.
Surely basic procedure is to verify delivery address, ensure that someone known and trusted by the receiver will receive the parcel and then deliver on time. Failure on all three counts. Unimpressive.

Hello stephanjs2,

We can imagine your concern when you were notified of the delivery when you actually haven't received your parcel and we sincerely apologise for the bad experience. This is not our standard practice and we'll address this with the responsible branch and driver. Deliveries should always be made to the person who placed the order and only if express permission is granted should the parcel be signed for by someone else.

Our complaints team will address the poor communication with regards to this matter with Mr Delivery and will also ensure that this situation is rectified as soon as possible. They'll be in touch with you as soon as they've made the necessary arrangements.

Sincerely,
