Delivery and returns

I have multiple complaints at this stage:

1. Returns takes way longer than expected and feedback on these returns from the customer centre is disjointed. from what happens where. I bought a Laptop and decided to cancel the order as the "daily deal" was not really a deal to start of with. I recommend that people do their research as takealot deals are truly nothing special. Most of the time the deals are about the same price as the day before or after.

So I cancelled the order and had to wait for a return to be logged and then waited a week for confirmation that they received the parcel "back". I have never received the parcel to start of with. The total return process took 2 weeks. Where I constantly had to ask what is happening with the claim.

After the returns being a mess I decided I will rather not use takealot and rather use alternative suppliers.

2. I did not keep to my statement as a week later I needed a HDMI 2.0 cable that is able to transfer data up to 18Gbps and could not find this product at my local Makro. I then proceeded to add to cart and realized that I need to get the order over R450 for free shipping. So naturally I bought an item not really needed to get the amount over the targeted rate. The very next day takealot sends a mail that they are unable to supply the cable as the supplier does not stock the item anymore and I need to reply if I want it to be credited back to my card. Which off co**** I rep**** Immediately stating to rather cancel the whole order and refund myself with the full amount. Needless to say was not done and only the HDMI cable was removed. On the same day I followed up and had no response. The next day I received a mail that the item has already been shipped and that I will be able to return the item as soon as I received the item. Which of co**** I felt very unhappy about due to the fact that I have gone through this process already and would prefer not to go through the process again.

3. This mouse ordered was ordered on the 28th and is in stock. Nominated delivery is still based on the product that they had to source. Thus will only receive the product on the 4th of December. I could have bought exact product at a 40% discount on the takealot price from Makro. They have stock and I could have collected or have it delivered earlier.

Needless to say I myself will not support takealot again. This is based on my own personal experience with takealot.
