Delivering goods without checking or calling the owner

I had a order and received an sms saying that my goods will be delivered before 17:00. Goods were delivered but not to me and no effort was made to contact me, the person who ordered and paid for the product. The product was just left at my office. No call, no message. I received an e-mail notification that the product has been delivered to me that night. When infact I had not received the product or signed for the delivery. This is not acceptable in my opinion as goods cannot just be left at the location it should be delivered to, without making any effort to make contact with me. Then showing the product to be delivered to me, when it has not. This was also an expensive product, which made me even more unhappy about the lack of communication and delivering procedures.
