Delayed delivery of some items

I ordered two items from takealot which were both in stock in Johannesburg on 30 December both items had collection date by 4 January 2024. I kept on tracking and on their tracking site, both parcels were shipped the 31st of December and scheduled for collection 4 January 2024. So on the day of 4 January both items still showed that delivery will be later the day. I only collected 1 parcel and upon enquiring I was told that the driver must have damaged the item as it was not delivered. Very bad and no one to take accountability for the mistake. I now have to wait until the 8th for another delivery to be scheduled.
