Defective products sold

Hi I recently bought a sunbeam 45l compact oven from takealot, the knob of one of the plates broke off and now the plate is always on, I returned the oven to takealot and I was informed its user damage, bear in mind this is a steel piece of knob not plastic, takealot sell defective products and doesnt take responsibility when returning there items, this is not the first time, I had a school bag incident as well same story, user damage, but the whole bags stitching came loose, they quick to take your money
