Defective delivery and passing the buck
What terrible service. I ordered a defective game for my 7 year old. She is in tears because the item does not work. I requested to exchange the game today and was basically told that this is a supplier issue and takealot is not responsible. I explained that I am aware of the terms and conditions but I dont want a refund, I simply want what I ordered as it was a gift only to be told that it will take as long as it takes irrespective to the circumstances. As service and quality driven consumer, this is not the type of business that I want to support any longer, a company that doesn't value their clients or take responsibility for client satisfaction does not deserve our support.

13 Jul 2019, 10:09After getting hold of a senior manager we got told that unfortunately, the are not staffed to handle the return today as their priority to get new orders out and that there is no one that can check for the item at their warehouse. Sorry... I mean really you telling me that you are more concerned about new orders than your existing client requests. Please do not order from takealot they dont care about your support. Clearly they have enough new business to support their business. I am disgusted.

After getting hold of a senior manager we got told that unfortunately, the are not staffed to handle the return today as their priority to get new orders out and that there is no one that can check for the item at their warehouse. Sorry... I mean really you telling me that you are more concerned about new orders than your existing client requests. Please do not order from takealot they dont care about your support. Clearly they have enough new business to support their business. I am disgusted.

We call in to follow up as the call back promised today did not happen, the takealot staff member tells my husband to being the item to the only branch that can assist with a replacement today. The branch is an hour drive from home. He gets there and gets told that they are closed and can not assist. The manager of the ware house tells me that she is very sorry she will look into it. So besides the cost of the item, the cost of Express delivery, the cost of the calls made, the fuel cost of driving to a company that prides them selves on delivery and the cost of replacing the item today from a retail store, I still have to deal with the irritation of trying to resolve this matter during the busy week ahead. My family, extended family Nd friends will no longer support your brand.
