Defective Air Conditioner and Unfair Cost Burden
After purchasing the air conditioner, I appointed a qualified and professional installer to install the unit at my property. Shortly after installation, it became clear that the air conditioner is faulty.
I reported the issue to Takealot within the six-month period as provided for under Section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). However, I was informed by a manager that I would need to arrange and pay for the air conditioner to be removed (uninstalled) at my own cost before they would collect it. Furthermore, if the unit is replaced, I would again be responsible for paying for reinstallation.
