Deeply Disappointed – Misled and Let Down by Takealot

I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a laptop from Takealot. The product was advertised and sold as brand new, yet what I received was clearly a refurbished unit. Upon inspection, the hard drive was found to be secured with masking tape - an alarming and unprofessional modification that was only discovered when the laptop suddenly failed and had to be checked by IT technicians. Despite this clear misrepresentation, Takealot has refused to accept a return or offer any form of repair, citing that the warranty expired just a few months ago. This rigid stance is unacceptable given the circumstances. I escalated the issue multiple times, shared images of the faulty setup, and emphasized the urgency of the matter, especially since the laptop is a critical work tool, yet I was met with delays and ultimately a refusal to assist.

This experience has been not only inconvenient but also deeply disappointing. I expected better accountability and customer care from a leading online retailer. I urge Takealot to reconsider how they handle such cases and to ensure that product listings are transparent and accurate.
