Declining Faulty Product Refund, because "It has been used" - such a joke!

I have been using Takealot for years without any issues. But now warning customers of the Takealot T's & C's changes that are absolutely ridiculous and against the CPA

Bought a middle range stick blender, advertised as smoothie maker and ice crusher. Received the product, but it struggled blending frozen berries (did not even try ice) and had a very smokey smell coming from the handle. I logged a return as it is faulty and very clearly false advertising.

They are declining a refund, because "It has been used". How on earth should I know it is faulty if I do not use it?!?!?! On that basis, they will not be refunding any product in future, unless you look at the product and immediately knows it does not work as advertised.

I will never, ever use Takealot again!
