Decay and decay and decay

I have been a client of Takealot (even since they were Take2) for many, many years and I have literary ordered thousands of DVDs and CDs – even a hard disc, a microwave oven, cosmetics, a gazebo, etc, etc,. I have written more than one review on this site, singing Takealot’s praises.

However, since they have merged with Kalahari, the decay in their delivery times has becoming progressively worse.

10 to 14 days for the so called 5 – 7 working days delivery times are now the norm (how many days are there in 7 working days?

For instance: On 4th of October I ordered a DVD set. It was delivered today. 20 Days later!

On 10th of October I ordered a perfume (birthday present) + 3 DVDs (once again not imported). I am still waiting for my delivery. 14 Days later. Advertised delivery times between “In Stock” and 9 working days. Once again, how many days are there in 7 – 9 working days?

I can only hold my thumbs for 2 flash drives and some coffee (once again a present due on Saturday) that were ordered last week (18th of October).

It seems as if the standard delivery time for LOCAL products now is two weeks. Just a simple decay in service. Not really a train smash, but WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS ONCE BRILLIANT COMPANY?

What happened to your 5 – 7 days delivery times?

Please look around – you might think that you have a monopoly, but you don’t. There are perhaps a 100 or more online South African companies servicing niche markets and PROVIDING FAST DELIVERY TIMES (is this not what online trading versus “normal” shopping is all about?. They are eating into your bottom line.

I sometimes order items from another site (yes, with free shipping) on a Monday and receive the items by the very Friday (referring to NOT IN STOCK items).

There are many, many other sites online who realise that customers expect (maybe demand?) the same service from online companies that they expect from a “brick and mortar” shop.

From a disillusioned once very loyal and frequent client (please do go into my “order history”).

Regards

Jacques Kuun
