As a loyal Takealot customer, I am outraged at the blatant price gouging happening on this platform. The latest insult? A tissue oil soap listed at R99 on Takealot, while Checkers sells the exact same item for R24.99. That’s not a markup — that’s daylight *******.

And it’s not the first time. Prestik was recently listed at R60 on Takealot, yet available for R29.99 at Checkers. These are just two examples, but they expose a disturbing pattern: either Takealot or its suppliers are shamelessly exploiting customers who trust them.

I now find myself double‑checking every price before buying, which completely defeats the purpose of using Takealot as a “trusted” platform. Convenience means nothing if it comes with ******ionate pricing.

Takealot, you are eroding customer trust with these practices. Stop hiding behind suppliers and start protecting the people who keep your business alive. Until then, I will think twice before clicking “Add to Cart.”
