Credit Card Details stored on TakeALot were ****** and used for *****ulent purchases

***** Alert I do the odd purchase on Takealot, not too many, so when I received this sms this morning I nearly 💩 myself! I phoned the number (I do think of myself as a Nancy Drew at the best of times🕵️♀️😂) but the minute she started asking banking questions that I wasn't prepared to answer she cut the call. I've sent it off to Takealot to investigate. Please share and be extra diligent. These *****sters are 10 steps ahead of us.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Do not store your CC details on Takealot for future purchases (normal CC purchaseds (without storing CC details for future purchases ) seem to be OK. Someone at Takealot is *****ing CC details stored on the Takealot server for future purchases. (SA is rife with this *****. doesn’t seem to happen as much overseas)

I got the same. Out of sheer curiosity I called the number - from a landline . As soon as I started asking questions, they hung up
