Courier communications non-existant

On Tuesday (25/08/2015) I ordered items on Takealot with next day delivery. I was informed (on the site) that delivery would take place by 26/08/2015. I phoned late on the 26th to be informed by Jason that the delivery was not picked up by the courier and he said he doesn't understand why it went to Skynet couriers. He did his utmost but couldn't get it delivered by the 26th.

So on the 27th I called multiple times and still no one had an idea where the parcel was. Eventually Jason called back saying it'll arrive on 28/08/2015 before 11am. 11am arrives on 28/08/2015 and still no parcel which has me calling Skynet/Takealot/Mr Delivery again! Then I get informed that there was traffic so I'll have the parcel by 12pm only. It was delivered at 11:55am.

Communication to the delivery partners are non-existant. Takealot's site says that someone will call to schedule a delivery time and, in my experience, this never happens.

I cannot fault Jason and Wendy as they did their utmost to get my parcel to me. However, I can fault Takealot as a whole who couldn't stick to their promise.

I have ordered many items and this is my conclusion - COMMUNICATION IS KEY!!

Hello Mnemonic,

We agree that effective communication is key to ensure a pleasant shopping experience from start to finish and we apologise for missing your delivery date and for any inconvenience caused. We've instructed our complaints team to look into why your delivery wasn't made as promised so that the matter can be addressed with the responsible departments to hopefully prevent similar disappointment in future.

Please allow our team a bit of time to look into this after which they'll be in touch with feedback.

Sincerely,
takealot.com
