Counterfeit K-Beauty on Takealot – Consumers Beware!

WARNING: Takealot is selling potentially counterfeit SKIN1004 products. I reported these suspicious products on 14th March 2026, including missing LOT numbers ( big red flag), irregular packaging, and QR codes linking to third-party sellers instead of the official skin1004 website to verify authenticity, but Takealot has ignored me. Every time I reach out by email or phone, they respond that it is “still investigating” or “haven’t heard back from the marketing team.” My concerns are being brushed aside, and they try to reduce this serious safety issue to a standard return process. As a consumer, I have the right to safe products that are authentic and fit for purpose. Takealot has a legal obligation under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and Counterfeit Goods Act 37 of 1997 to verify the authenticity of products before selling them. Allowing potentially counterfeit goods to remain on sale is ******* and endangers customers. I have documented everything and will escalate to the NCC if this is not resolved immediately. If you have bought SKIN1004 from Takealot, inspect your products carefully. In fact, if you've bought any international brands, make sure to verify authenticity. I no longer trust them since they list products for sale without even checking it's authenticity first.
