Christmas ruined by Takealot

I am disgusted by the service of Takealot. I placed and paid for an order on Takealot on 22 December 2021. On the payment it stated that the delivery will take place on 24 December. I emailed takealot on the delivery day, the reply was that they had a problem at the depot the morning of the order date.

My son was so excited for his Christmas present and they did not deliver.

I have read some of the reviews on Takealot and the company does not even acknowledge the review, no reply in them what so ever. Due to Covid restriction many people make use of delivery service and this is the service we as South Africans get. I am very disappointed in Takealot and would not recommend them at all.

Now the tracking order says the item will only be delivered on 28 December. I was counting on Takealot to deliver. If I had known this would happen I would've gone into a shop and buy the item personally.

Takealot did not even notify me that the order would not be delivered. When I contacted them via email I asked if I could pick the item up myself from their depot in Cape Town and the reply was, '' I don't know, I will have to find out. '' I'm still waiting on a reply.

I will never order from takealot ever again.
