Cheated by company

On 14/02/2022 I ordered a Microsoft product from takealot.com for R599 (order #***). The delivery was made on 18/02/2022. However, upon opening the delivery box, I noticed that the item delivered was not what I have ordered. It was a different product that cost almost 50% less that the original product. The bar-code of the original product was placed over the barcode of the item which was delivered. When I filed a complaint/return to Takealot I was informed that the product I order was unfortunately no longer in stock.

This is quite upsetting as they did not notify me that the product I ordered was not in stock and the replaced it with a cheaper item and replace the original barcode of the delivered item with the barcode of the item I initially ordered, did they really think I was not going to notice the difference? They were not planning to refund me the difference in price of the the two products.

I have never received bad service from Takealot before, but I am utterly disappointed in the service this time around and the fact that they provided me a cheaper product and not refunded me the difference is disgusting. I will think twice before using their service again.
