Charging double for Red dead Redemption 2 regular edition

They are selling Red Dead Redemption 2, the regular edition for R1699 at the moment, while the recommended price is R999 and most retailer stores are selling it new for R899. I know they depend on independent retail stores for these prices, but how can they allow this price for arguably one of the most popular games of 2018, and this right before Christmas, knowing that everyone will buy it as a present. Many parents will probably buy it at this price because they dont know any better. The going rate currently at makro or literally anywhere else online is R899 - R999. Takealot had the game listed for R899 and then on about the 13th of December changed the price. I complained about it, but received an email back to go search their help documents if I needed help. After digging through their help, I eventually found a place to submit a query and I did. Someone phoned me and explained that they do not control the price and that I should have a look at their daily deals where they have specials everyday. The next day, the price went up even further (it was R1499 when I complained and then it went up to R1699 !). And remember, during this price hike, the special edition still sells for R1299. I just think that it is such a weak move from takealot, while everyone in the country and even the PlayStation store is selling the game for R899, they decided, ***** it, we will charge double at R1699. What the heck ?! To give further context, the only reason I wanted to buy the game from takealot was because I received credit from them because they delivered a wrong product to me and the product I ordered was no longer in stock. So I had the credit and thought, oh well, might as well buy Red Dead Redemption 2. When I came home from work, ready to buy the product, the price literally doubled, and increased even further the next two days.

EDIT: They fixed the price now and it's back on R899. Seems like some of the retailers they use wants to ****** their customers.
