Cancelled or due to no stock ?
I recently ordered paracord for my son who is doing an entrepreneurial project. The advertised price was R139. A day or two later, I received an email to say the order had been cancelled as they didn’t have ‘stock’.
I went back onto there website to look, and there was the exact same product on my wish list, only R40 more expensive. Surely one should receive the product at the price it was marketed for? This extra R40 makes a big difference to my son’s bottom line.
This is not the first time this has happened to me, where we order something and it gets cancelled due to no stock, yet is advertised and available to me at a higher price. I’m sure the consumer act should come into play in moments like these?
In a shop, one automatically gets the item at the price advertised, even if the shop made an error - this has happened to me before. How is Takealot being held accountable to the Consumer Act in this regard?
