Cancellation of order one day before expected delivery

I placed an order for a few items and non indicated low stock on the 15th December with delivery due on the 19th December. I received an email today stating that for one of the items there is no longer stock and my Takealot account has been credited. Firstly why was I only notified the day before delivery and secondly why wasn't I provided the option of getting my funds back! They are just forcing me to buy something further from them and on top of that have to buy something of more value to get free delivery. I suppose this can be done when you have the monopoly, roll on Amazon SA
