Cancelation of order without any feedback

I have been waiting for a parcel for 8 days now. When they eventually picked up the phone they told me there was n cancellation because the parcel was broken.. They couldn't even phone me the day they cancelled the order to let me know. Why should i give out my personal information if they don't make use of it anyway?
