Cancel advertised products
Takelot advertised a product for a specific price. I have ordered 7 of them and paid immediately. Got an delivery date from them. On phoning to find out where product is because it wasnt delivered i was told that Takealot has cancelled the order. No notification received from them. Apparantely they made a mistake with the advertised price and decided to cancel or orders. According to them they have a different set of rules and it does not fall under the CPA. They told me that they are entitled to cancel when ever and how ever they feel. this is not acceptable for me. They advertised, i bought for that price, does not matter if it was a mistake or not, i want my products. <br> According to takealot everyone was given a R200 voucher on their accounts. This does not make up for the promises i made for supplying the products. <br> Can someone please assist. I need my 7 products for the price i paid for it
We understand that you are upset about the cancellation of your orders and that the compensation offered doesn't make up for the disappointment this situation has caused. An inadvertent technical error caused certain products from our camping and outdoor department to show as available at an incorrect price. It is not possible for us to fulfil orders that were placed for these items at the incorrect price, which is why they were cancelled. The electronic and immediate nature of our business allows room for errors such as these to occur, which is why we make provision for them in our terms and conditions.
We attempted to contact all customers who were affected by this error via e-mail and apologise if this did not reach you sooner. Once again we can only apologise for the outcome of this matter as we are not able to fulfil these orders.
