Broken TV delivered by Takealot.com
Hi guys.
I'm normally not the one to do such things and complain but this has gotten too far.
I purchased a Hisense TV from takealot on their black Friday blue dot sale. I purchased it as a gift for cousin but at the time he had been busy with home renovations and we were skeptical of leaving the TV their during this time, so I decided to keep it at my place. Keep in mind I had not even opened the TV. So the time came 18th of December where he had finally completed his home renovations I took the TV there and I helped him with setting up. Upon switching on the TV, the screen inside had been cracked. This can not been seen unless the TV is switched on. We were inspecting the TV to see any signs of damage, maybe it had fallen, and nothing. We checked the box for any punctures nothing. Even when inspecting the TV closely, the warranty sticker at the back almost looks like there is another sticker that has been stuck over it, but that is my observation only. So the next day I contacted takealot about the issue. It is now the 7th of January and I have had 8 different people contact me about the issue. Some with different reasons.
I even kept myself updated on the tracking details via takealot`s website and it even said accessories missing? All I am left with is warranty void due to visible damage. What is worse the pictures they have sent me upon doing their "investigations", is that the TV is a lot worse. The whole screen is basically cracked. I have asked for explications and no reply.
This is their standard warranty T&C`s:
Standard Warranty
If you have received a product which turns out to be defective or otherwise of poor quality (save for direct warranty products which are discussed below), please notify us as soon as reasonably possible after you become aware of the defect or poor quality, but in any event within 6 months after delivery / collection of the product (except in the case of an extended supplier warranty, which is set out below).
I am now left with a broken TV and no response.
