BEWARE OF THE HOOK - A LOT FOR LESS

I fully realise that takealot do not bother to read these reviews but through that I would share it anyway. I have been buying from takealot since November 2015. In April this year I had an issue with a [discount] promotion not being app**** to my order. The response from Chezray R, presumably one of their customer care representatives was offish and absurd.

It seems that these days, takealot’s customer service is on the decline and their prices are doing the opposite.

Here are some examples comparing [pet food] identical products [“apples with apples”] with another online retailer which also does not charge for deliveries for orders above R500. 4 x Whiskas Dry Cat Food 4Kg - R 1460.00 (advertised as a lot for less at takealot) Same from the other on-line retailer R 1273.00 4 x Whiskas Adult Pouches (12x85g) - R 596.00 (advertised as a lot for less at takealot) Same from the other on-line retailer R 513.45 6 x Petley’s Dog Food Tins 775g - R 430.00 from takealot Same from the other on-line retailer R 225.75 Do the maths!

So, takealot’s “A LOT FOR LESS” must be referring to their exorbitant price rather than value for money.

Strange that takealot adopts this strategy, only months before the world’s largest online retailer opens their South African distribution centre.
