Beware of bait advertising

BEWARE OF BAIT ADEVERTISING by Takealot. They advertise Nespresso vouchers when you purchase a Nespresso product, instead of clearly stating that it is only a discount voucher which can only be used if you make additional/future purchases. I see nothing wrong with the concept of a discount voucher, as long as it is clearly advertised as a discount voucher and not a redeemable voucher. When I complained to Takealot, Unathi Isaacs advised me that I should have been smarter and checked the hidden Ts&Cs like other customers do. After the Rugby World Cup TV debacle where Takealot tried to worm their way out of refunding a customer, I should have been aware that I am dealing with a company that tries their best to avoid keeping promises. Please take care of the fine print – Do not trust Takealot’s headline advertising. It amounts to bait advertising. Perhaps it’s a better idea to go into an actual store instead. Paying a little more for a better experience and a bit of integrity makes sense.I'm taking my complaint to the ASA.
