BEFORE 10AM SAME DAY DELIVERY ****

I placed an order on Takealot on Thursday, 29 May, before 10am because they advertised that orders placed before that time would qualify for same-day delivery. I even paid extra for this service because I needed my items urgently.

I waited the entire day on Thursday, only to discover that neither of my orders had even been shipped. On Friday morning, I finally received a notification that ONE of the orders had been shipped, so I rearranged my schedule and made sure I was available to receive the delivery. Then, at 16:01 on Friday afternoon, after making me wait the whole day again, I received another message saying the package would only be delivered on Saturday. The second package has still not even been shipped.

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed by the dishonesty surrounding this so-called “same-day delivery before 10am” offer. It feels misleading to charge customers extra for a service that is clearly not being fulfilled. What makes this even worse is the inconvenience caused by repeatedly making me wait around for deliveries that never arrive.

I have been a loyal Takealot customer for a long time and have generally had good experiences, which is why this situation is so disappointing. If this is the level of service customers can now expect, then I am honestly being pushed towards using competitors instead.

At this point, the same-day delivery promise feels like nothing more than a way to get customers to pay extra money without actually delivering on what was promised. Very disappointed.
