Bad Delivery service

I did a takealot.com order on the 29th of September 2019 first estimated delivery was the 7th of October because some items was out of stock then it was changed to the 14th of October I do understand that. Then on Saturday I received a SMS saying my delivery will take place before 05:00 PM today and when I checked my order, order number ***6 now it says delivery was cancelled and item taken back to Takealot.com I did previous orders and had no problem receiving the items I ordered. How can an order just be cancelled without informing clients via SMS or email? If there is a problem with the delivery and the items cannot be delivered why not your clients inform in time. In future I am not sure if I will deal with takealot.com again as delivery is slow and they do not even inform their clients via SMS or email that a problem occurred with their delivery.
