Avoidance of responsibility- takealot

I bough a Garmin Fenix 6 watch from takealot which was defective and for some reason the battery inside overheated and burned a whole in my arm where the charger port is situated.

I have approached takealot to take this up with the supplier as this product defect have the potential to cause injury to others users.

Takealot however have take the approach not to contact the supplier nor replace the defective item providing me a credit .

I can’t stress how disconcerning this is, not only does takealot avoid their responsibility to the consumer but also failed to protect other user and have further not allowed Garmin the opportunity to look into the matter and make good to their users.

Very disappointing and outright bad service and failure to project consumers.
