Avoid Takealot to avoid disappointment

I have given Takealot many opportunities to provide me with good service but I am done buying from them. Or rather, attempting to buy from them. In the last three months, I have had two orders cancelled by Takealot with little explanation as to why (one happened today which inspired me to write this review). When I do get an order shipped eventually, it always takes way longer than any other companies (I'm talking months!) and this was the case pre-COVID so that can't be an excuse for their lax attitude. Advice to everyone, avoid Takealot as much as you possibly can and buy directly from your local businesses! Go to small shops in your neighborhood or businesses within SA and buy from them. You get personalised service and great quality products, and I've never had a package take more than 3 days to get to me from any of the small online stores. #supportlocal
