Avoid Furniture Purchases on Takealot – Unfair Return Policy!

I ordered a table and chair set from Takealot, and one of the chair legs arrived damaged. Instead of offering a simple replacement for the broken part, Takealot demanded that I return the entire set — fully disassembled and flat-packed — in its original packaging.

This is completely unrealistic. Once assembled, the furniture can't be disassembled without damaging the wood further. There were no assembly instructions included to begin with, making it difficult from the start.

Now they’re refusing the return because I can’t magically re-flat-pack the entire set, and they’re keeping my money. All I asked for was a working chair or leg replacement — not a full refund — but their rigid and unreasonable policy has left me with a damaged product and no support.

The furniture itself looks decent, but the customer service and returns experience is awful.

Buyers beware: Do NOT order flat-pack furniture from Takealot unless you're willing to risk being stuck with broken items and no help.
