Appalling service and communication

I ordered a solar lamp on Takealot, which was defective. I happily went through the returns process, hoping I would get a replacement but they were out of stock. A date for collection was arranged. The courier arrived at my work place on 2 separate occasions, was given the item but refused to take it as 'it was not on his inventory'. I then had 2 further phonecalls from Mr Delivery and Skynet, confirming the item would rather be collected at my residential home by both companies. On the now third attempt at collection, the courier arrived at my work place. I contacted Mr Delivery to try locate the courier but they have no means of telephonic communication with Skynet, and can only email them. I tried 8 times to phone Skynet myself, with no answer. <br> How can one subcontract a company and yet have no means of contacting them other than by email? Furthermore, how can one communicate with a customer TWICE then ignore that communication? I bought a product, was sent a defective item (in error I am sure), then had to beg and plead for them to accept it back. For a well known company, there is no internal or customer communication and very little attempt to remedy a very tense situation.
