Always have this one problem when ordering my dogs' food.
I normally won't bother complaining, but unfortunately this has become a major problem to us living in Alexanderbay. Most of the time I'm very pleased with the service and products I get from takealot and their delivery, but almost every time when I order dog food with other goods, I end up waiting such a long time for my order to be delivered, which leaves my dogs without food!!! Yes there is a small shop here, but they don't sell the dog food my dogs eat. And if I've already spend more than R250 on dog food why would I want to spend more money on buying food my dogs won't eat. Takealot urge us to order for more than R450 so that we can have free delivery, and who wouldn't want that. So it just so happens that I order enough to receive free delivery. When I first started ordering from takealot when this happened they were more than willing to split the order and send the dog food so long, while the other items were not in stock yet, without charging extra, with my last order I ordered for more than R800 and again amongst everything there were dog food. I ordered on the 13th of Nov, last week I phoned to find out what the hold up is, and they said they shorted one item, which they will receive within 6-8days from the ordering date from the supplier. I asked them to split the order and send the dog food so long, because my dogs ran out of food already. (the other closest shops that sell their food is 250km from us) They said they'll split the order but then, I'll have to pay R60 for the delivery. Well now you'll say R60, why am I complaining about a R60, at the end of the day, if this happens every month in a year it is R720, I could've spend on something else. And maybe in a month or 2 it won't cost R60 it might be R100. I just feel that you takealot can really make the exception with pet food. When the problem is on your side, the least you can do is send the food so long without charging delivery. Among all that items there was a birthday gift as well which is almost 2 weeks late now, but I'm not at all bothered by that, because my friend won't die because her gift is late, but my pet sure can die if they don't get their food.
Like I said, this is the only issue I have with takealot. Otherwise I would like to give them a 5 star rating. Hope they will think about my suggestion....
