Advertised warranty
After reading other reviews on Hellopeter, I don't feel alone. Takealot, I have been a client more than a couple years. The experience used to be pleasant. What I fail to understand is how you regulate and hold third party suppliers accountable. My agreement is with you. I use the app, pay and it's you that gets paid. The semantics between you and your suppliers should not be made my problem. I am also hoping anyone who purchased Joule batteries(Joule Energy Solutions) will go check their warranty status. In February 2022, these batteries were on sale with 18/36 month warranty. When a Russell hobbs fan (Home of Living Brands) failed, I used the app to log return. That's when I discovered the batteries are now 12 month warranty? How is a supplier allowed to change warranty purchased without advising the client? Now let's move to the fan. The fan was advertised as 24 month warranty. In the "my orders" in the account it also shows 24 months warranty. Return logged, collected, weeks go by, then email received for quotation. This shows "large item", I query. Mails later I am pretty much told that warranty was 12 months not 24. I was supposed to register online for the additional 12 months. The advert stated 24 months, so for what must I register? I am referred to the third party rules and terms....why? I don't have an agreement with the third party, I have one with you. I order, pay and accept the item from you. Anyway, I pay. Days later miraculously fan appears. But now packaging is *******, blade warped, motor sounds weird and no one knows if or what was repaired. So what did I pay for? Worse yet is to date I have received no answer as to why the battery warranty was reduced to 12 months. So I have no interest in debating or fighting with Takealot consultants. Hopefully readers will learn from my mistakes. Don't take the adverts or description on the website or app at face value(as regards warranty), check your orders after purchase and if the warranty is incorrect then send it back. It appears on Hellopeter that Takealot is suffering service issues and well the warranties fall to that. Takealot, or whoever answers, please don't respond or mail new cases....fix the cases still open. Hold your suppliers accountable I am sure you have SLA's in place. Lastly, I bought dehumidifiers. These units have oil inside. So if boxes are packed/stored/shipped with units upside down or banged around(as boxes show), the motor on tends to degrade. This was confirmed with the actual manufacturer. Dehumidifiers were returned after confirmation from manufacturer the noises are not supposed to be like that. So, readers go check your warranties and duration thereof. Don't be a sucker like me!
