A once good company, now worthless due to zero customer service. Avoid if at all possible.

Used to be very good service reliable fast well priced. No longer. The customer returns service has been broken. I ordered a product, they sent me the previous version of the product advertised and ordered which was a vastly inferior product. Logged a return, they came and collected the inferior product, proceeded to decline the return and then never even bothered to deliver the incorrect product back to me so now I have paid them the amount originally required and have absolutely no product whatsoever to show for it and they are apparently just fine with that. And that's not to even go into their email response to me on the matter which I should really repost somewhere simply as an example of utterly appalling "professional communications with customers". Littered with spelling mistakes, so poorly written that I can't even figure out what message they are trying to convey. And with that piece of garbage emailed communication, they have closed the matter and are not prepared to deal with it further. It's appalling a company which used to be so good now hollowed out and rendered utterly without any shred of morality as they can now hide it behind complete and utter ineptitude.

Many thousands of Rands have I spent at Takealot in the past, but no more. The same products can be bought for actually slightly cheaper from "small" online retail outlets who at least can still be bothered to try on the customer service front. They think they are the Amazon of ZA but the problem is, Amazon just focussed on more and more amazing customer service while Takealot has just abandoned the concept entirely.
