A Masterclass in How Not to Treat a Customer
I bought a bird feeder off Take a Lot, This has been one of the most frustrating and unacceptable consumer experiences I have had in years. The product arrived with an obvious manufacturing defect, the hole drilled for the roof support was larger than the dowel itself, causing the support to slide through and snap. Instead of acknowledging this clear fault, the return was initially rejected on a petty technicality involving missing plastic packaging. After further effort, the item was eventually sent back to me, now in an EVEN WORSE CONDITION than when it was returned. A product that was already broken due to poor manufacturing was further damaged while in Takealot’s possession, demonstrating a complete lack of care, competence, or accountability.
The end result is that I paid for a product that was defective from day one, was denied a proper resolution, and then had the item returned to me more damaged than before. This feels less like customer service and more like an exercise in avoiding responsibility at all costs. The quality of the product, the handling of the return, and the overall treatment of the customer are all unacceptable. I strongly advise others to think very carefully before trusting Takealot with their money
