SWEEPSOUTH Damage - Be Warned - Their Insurance Does Not Pay
At the end of January, we thought we did the right thing by using SweepSouth to clean our cottage for the new tenants. When the cleaner Virginia arrived, the sliding door was fully intact, after she left, it was cracked. We contacted the company and they referred us to their insurance. There is nothing in the policy they forwarded that prevents them from covering our claim, but they repudiated it anyway at their discretion. I could prove my case, but apparently, a sliding door is "fixed" to the house. That means a cleaner can break anything big and in your house, such as cupboards, windows, doors etc. and their insurer, Transact and Protect (TPI) (Pty) Ltd *** FSP: 48459 won't pay for it. You are protected if a glass is dropped, but not against serious damage. They also don't pay if jewellery or such disappears. Some insurance consultant named Gareth (he refused to give his surname) phoned us BEFORE the assessment and told me that they would not cover our claim. We double-checked: nothing in the policy prevents them from doing so. Needless to say that we will never use SweepSouth again. Neither will our friends and family.
Unfortunately, we are not permitted to comment on any insurance claims. We know that they follow very stringent processes and that all claims are assessed by a legal team that does require certain information, documentation, and evidence of damage that occurs. We are so sorry that upon their investigations and assessments that the claim was repudiated as per the reasons outlined in the Outcome Letter. We encourage you to revert back to the third party to allow them to fully address any queries or concerns you may have.
