Sweep South flatters to deceive

I have used sweep south for a long while now with a lot of patience however would not recommend sweep south any longer. The entire platform is problematic in many ways, too much to mention here. However, for purposes of substantiating my claim, I will mention one area of concern. The rating system is unreliable and misleading many of the "sweep stars" are not trained and in some instances have no real and measurable workable knowledge to even use basic household cleaning items such as a vacuum cleaner or can differentiate between cleaning products. Of course, there are exceptions but I had far too many "sweep stars" work at my home and the vast majority had no clue where to start. You spend endless time and effort to explain basic things just for it either not done or done incorrectly. When that is all said and done, the sweep star doesn't pitch up or suddenly cancel then you have to start the whole procedure again with someone new and so it goes on and on like a conveyer belt. Sweep south support is weak and ineffective and pay more lip service rather than offering meaningful assistance. My recommendation is, I do not recommend sweep south at all it is not worth all the hassle and sub-par cleaning and frustration. I feel both the sweep star and you the public using this platform is exploited. Quality of service is not a priority with sweep south, they will spew a lot of PR and lots of lip service but the truth is the end-product does not match the promise.

 Good morning Leon,

We are disappointed to read your review - our team have attempted to make contact with you on several occasions via phone and email to try to offer a positive resolution and solution, as per our emails, we had so hoped to assist in finding you the right SweepStar.

We completely understand and respect all of your feedback. We continue to try to find ways to encourage and promote reliability together with efficiency, but, as you can imagine as we are effectively selling a person's time it does pose difficulties.

We acknowledge that the platform has not assisted in matching you with the right SweepStar yet - we do want to assure you that there is a fair amount that goes on in the background - continuously in an effort to try and ensure the quality of independent contractors who have access to the SweepSouth platform. We heavily rely on clients adding a rating after any booking they have as a way to ensure SweepStars receive ongoing feedback and understand how they can improve, as well as allowing us to track a SweepStar's average rating.

If a SweepStar falls below a certain average rating, unfortunately, they will no longer be able to work via the platform. We have also set up a system that records incidents (which works very much like a points system) - what happens is that SweepStars receive particular incidents against a booking where they do not perform. These incidents include (but are not limited to): late cancellation of a booking, same day cancellation of a booking, not confirming that they have started transit to their client, not confirming arrival at a client, not closing a booking at the end time, not arriving at a booking, arriving late at a booking, misreporting hours, misreporting arrival, getting lost (not making proper use of their app, which uses GPS co-ordinates to direct them), etc. These 'behaviours' are tracked via the app and is an automated system to ensure that it is automatically monitored and noted. Again, when certain thresholds are hit, SweepStars are notified in order to give them an opportunity to improve, unfortunately, if they are unable to improve in this regard, they will no longer be able to work via the platform. We've implemented a system which ensures SweepStars are aware of how they are doing, where they may improve and ensures opportunity to improve and remain working via the platform.

As independent contractors to the platform, SweepStars have full control over their schedules - where and when they work. Unfortunately, as per our previous communications, you had indicated (for now) that you wanted someone who would be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as such, the SweepStars we suggested were available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - as per your request. Your preferred selection was already assigned to a regular client on Fridays (a day you had not mentioned needing in our initial communications) which meant that we would be unable to arrange for her to be removed from a regular client to attend the Friday, 3rd September booking.

We would still very much like to find you the right match for you if you are open to this, but it should be noted that SweepStar's schedules change all the time as new customers create bookings and snap them up - we included in our email your preferred SweepStar's availability in an effort to set this up for you. While her schedule is fairly fill, we indicated that we would most likely be able to assist with assigning her should you wish to see her weekly on Wednesdays.

We're disappointed that you did not allow us to assist you - we acknowledge that sometimes we aren't able to find the right match upfront but were willing to try to do this with you. We assure you that the team are not ineffective nor do we ride on lip service - as you will see by our efforts to make contact with you, we did genuinely want to assist you but sadly have not received replies from you.

Warm regards,
